Bike Venice!!




For todays workout I decided to do something that I have wanted to do since moving to Los Angeles. I have been riding my bike along Venice Beach pretty regularly between Santa Monica Pier and the Venice Pier. But I have always heard that the trail continues past the Marina. So today I ventured past the Marina to see what was on the other side. 


It turns out there are miles of trail past the Marina! From what I have read online this trail goes all the way down to Redondo Beach! Ill have to make the ride all the way down their sometime. Lots of beautiful coastline to see. Biking on the beach is always fun because you get to see the fun activities people are up to. Even though its a bit chilly out there today people were still playing beach volleyball and walking on the sand.

This is just to the south of the Marina entrance. I should a have taken a picture down into the Marina but I didn't stop.

Hiking at Runyon Canyon!!


As a part of my goal to do something to keep fit and healthy every day. This morning I got up and headed over to Runyon Canyon for a hike. Met some fun people and got to pet a few dogs along the way. Its a good time, check out this facebook group. They meet at the entrance on Fuller Ave every Friday at 9:45 am. Its a great way to start the morning and a pretty decent workout. I know Ill be doing it again!

Its a little weird for me to go on a hike with this as the backdrop. In Kansas there are not cities near hiking trails. Lol

How I have been doing

Well I started my nutrition plan mid December and couldn't be happer. After only 2 weeks on the plan I had lost 10 pounds and I could take my jeans off without unbuttoning them. This is when it first clicked that this is really working. 

Fast forward a couple more weeks. Im down another 5 pounds and am going to be in need of a new belt pretty soon.
